Rocket Derby Info

Humans had to work long and hard to establish rocket science, and gain the ability to launch into the heavens and galaxy beyond. These efforts and accomplishments are sources of great pride and fulfillment.

Our "end of year" picnic, also called The Rocket Derby, is a tradition at Pack 85 that recognizes our own scout's efforts and accomplishments. Held near the end of the school year (May) at local Lenni Park, it is a family BBQ event where scouts are recognized for earning their respective rank badges. Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos are made here. And we launch rockets as we "launch" into our Summer schedule of day camps and pack events - how cool!
