Once your child joins Pack 395, they will be placed in a Den. A Den consists of several scouts who are all in the same grade and approximately the same age. At each den meeting, the scouts will participate in a variety of activities. By completing each of these activities, your child will get one step closer to their next cub scout rank. Dens typically meet one night each week on Monday nights. Parent/Adult Partner involvement is highly encouraged at all Den meetings.
On generally the last Monday of the month, between the months of September andMay, Pack 395 comes together as one group for our monthly Pack Meetings. All Den members, as well as their leaders and parents/adult partners, meet at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church. The pack meeting allows the scouts to interact with others in the pack, learn about different principles of scouting, get information on upcoming scouting events in the area and celebrate each others accomplishments through award presentations and rank advancement ceremonies.
Our Pack's programs don't stop when school ends. Pack 395 usually holds at least one summertime event each month between June-August. Past events include fishing tournaments, Frederick Keys games with on-field sleepover, and hiking trips. Of course, all of our scouts are also encouraged to participate in Cub Scout Day Camp, as well as resident camps.
