Recharter Process
Annually, all Boy Scouts of America units recharter. This process includes collecting National, Council, and Unit fees, verifying membership roster and member contact information. In conjunction with recharter, Troop 6 completes a self evaluation to national standards called Journey to Excellence. Troop 82 strives to maintain the Journey to Excellence standards for program planning and performance.
Troop 82 charter is January 1 - December 31.
The roster verification and fee collection begins each fall and is completed by mid December.
Recharter 2021 Specifics
- $75 unit charter fee (paid by troop out of the scout troop activity fee collected)
- $57 per registered Adult Member
- $45 National BSA Fee - goes to the National Council
- $12 Insurance - stays local in the Occoneechee Council
Troop Activity Fee 2023 = $24
The Troop Activity Fee covers the cost of advancement, merit badges, recognition patches, and administrative costs.
Members may begin to make partial payments (payable to troop 82) starting at the troop meeting on 11/02. Please see Troop Treasurer to make payments or inquire about scout account funds to apply towards the recharter fees.
