Home Cooking / Patrol Cooking Requirements
Requirement 1: 5 - a, c, d, e
This can be done with 1 other person.
5 - Plan a menu for three full days of meals (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners) plus one dessert. Your menu should include enough to feed yourself and at least one adult, keeping in mind any special needs (such as food allergies) of those to be served.
5 - a - Create a shopping list for your meals showing the amount of food needed to prepare and serve each meal. You can utilize items you already have at home, just notate the price of the item when you buy the rest from the store.
5 - c, d - Use at least 5 of the 7 cooking methods and prepare one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner from your menu. (These can be split up and done on multiple days).
5 - e - After each meal ask the person you served to evaluate the meal and plan to discuss with your counselor
Requirement 1: 6 - a, c, d, e, f
The can be done with a Patrol of 3 - 8 people, at camp, on a camporee, or during a patrol meeting.
6 - Plan a menu for 3 - 8 people including 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), 1 snack and 1 dessert
6 - a - Create a shopping list for your meals showing the amount of food needed to prepare and serve each meal. You can utilize items you already have at home, just notate the price of the item when you buy the rest from the store.
6 - c, d, e - In the outdoors, cook 2 meals and 1 snack from your planned menu (these may be done on different dates), utilize either a fire, or camp stove. Use either a Dutch oven, foil pack or kabobs to cook your meals.
6 - f - After each meal ask the people you served to evaluate the meal and plan to discuss with your counselor

This can be done with a Patrol of 3 - 5 people while outdoors/hiking
7 - Plan a menu for 3 - 5 people including 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and 1 snack
7 - a - Create a shopping list for your meals showing the amount of food needed to prepare and serve each meal. You can utilize items you already have at home, just notate the price of the item when you buy the rest from the store.

Share and discuss your meal plans, shopping lists, and how you kept perishable foods safe from cross contamination, the equipment used to prepare and serve these meals, and how you cleaned up the equipment, utensils and site after each meal; this can be done through an email, phone, Troop meeting, or appointment with your counselor.
