Order of the Arrow (OA) is the national Boy Scout Honor Society. Boy Scouts have to be nominated by their peers for this society and exemplify the boy scout ideals, be at least 1st Class rank, and have enough camping nights. In addition, the boys have to be willing to go the extra distance than most and help usually at the local boy scout camps for a weekend or two. OA scouts are typically those older scouts that have proven skills, leadership and values. Order of the Arrow district society then have a few special OA trips/events per year that the normal troop does not offer.
